Music

Music has the power to affect and to change us, and it is a foundational part of our ministry at St. Elisabeth’s Church. It is a universal act of prayer through which we can find deeper meaning in our spiritual practice, and greater connection in our community.

Life Events

Baptism is the rite by which an individual is received into the community of faith. We baptize infants, children, and adults. Confirmation is the rite through which an individual expresses a mature commitment to Christ and receives strength from the Holy Spirit through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop.

Labyrinth

The Bethany Labyrinth at St Elisabeth's is enjoyed by people of all different faiths as a quiet and beautiful space for meditation, centering, and connecting with the Sacred. It is located west of the rectory at the corner of Hawthorn, Greenwood, and South Avenues.

Currently being refreshed for continued use through the winter months, the Labyrinth will be fully renovated in the spring of 2024.

A Labyrinth is an ancient and cross-cultural spiritual tool designed to foster contemplation and spiritual transformation. Walked by contemplatives and lay people alike for over 4,000 years, labyrinths are typically formed as a circle with a singular path leading to a center. It is a path of prayer, a walking meditation, and supports the practice of mindfulness.

Open from dawn to dusk every day of the year. the Bethany Labyrinth is a modification of the famous Chartres Cathedral Labyrinth in France

Walking the Labyrinth - A Guide

Information sheets are available at the entrance to the labyrinth, and if you have any questions you are invited to contact our church office.

The labyrinth may be a set path, but it does not offer a set experience. Instead, it offers a door that anyone may go through, to discover realities that meet each person where each most needs to be met.
