God be with you,
And also with you.
Let us pray.
Come Our Way, Our Truth, Our Life. Counsel us and our leaders in the pathways of peace that by embodying your reconciling purposes all strife might be ended here in these United States and around the world. Reveal your Wisdom to all those in authority - to our President, Congress and Courts, to all public officials in the state of Illinois, in Cook County, here in the village of Glencoe and in all surrounding cities, towns and villages. For the sake of your Name, lead us and guide us.
God in your mercy,
hear our prayer.
Come our Light, our Feast, our Strength. Illumine our hearts and the hearts of your disciples around the world to perceive you in our prayer and in our action. Mend the lives of those who follow you, knitting our will to your own. Strengthen us by the grace of this Eucharistic feast to live for you in all that we undertake. We pray to you today for your Church in the Evanston Deanery, particularly for the people of St. David’s Church in Glenview and Paul their Rector. Call your people out of darkness into your marvelous light. Be our strong rock, our crag and our stronghold.
God in your mercy,
hear our prayer.
Come our Joy, our Love, our Heart. Accompany and aid us and all those in this world who are sick, who suffer, or are in any sort of trouble, praying particularly for those affected by the wildfires in Georgia and the wars in the Middle East and Ukraine, and for Sally, Sherry, Aidan, Isabelle, Norris, Andre, Donna, James, and Tyler & Anna.
Are there others?
Make your face to shine upon them and in your loving-kindness save them.
We pray to you also for those we love but see no longer. Lead them and all the departed into the fullness of your joy, into the depths of your love.
God in your mercy,
hear our prayer.
Be with us, O Christ, through all the stages of our life’s journey, with compassion for our weakness every step along the way. Fix our eyes on you that we may ever walk by faith in your word, trusting in your goodness, and embodying it in our deeds.
God in your mercy,
hear our prayer.
Almighty God, whom truly to know is everlasting life: Grant us so perfectly to know your Son Jesus Christ to be the way, the truth, and the life, that we may steadfastly follow his steps in the way that leads to eternal life; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. The Book of Common Prayer
Amen.
