Sunday Mornings for Children

Children of all ages are welcome at St. Elisabeth’s, and invited as full participants in our worship and programs.

Sunday School for Children is offered every Sunday after the 10AM service, and young people of all ages are invited to participate. A Christian Education program for adults is offered concurrently.

We are also pleased to offer a Soft Space in the church for young children and their parents to use during worship services.

Older children participate as Acolytes, Choristers, Readers, and Ushers in order to learn more about their church and their faith.

Confirmation

Confirmation is the rite through which an individual expresses a mature commitment to Christ and receives strength from the Holy Spirit through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop. It is a reaffirmation of the promises and faith adopted at baptism. If you or your child feel called to confirmation, we invite you to contact our church office to schedule a meeting with our rector.

It’s time again to host diners at the Evanston Methodist Church. On Thursday, July 9, we will need help with preparing sack lunches at St Elisabeth’s and then preparing a hot meal at the Methodist Church, located at 516 Church St, Evanston, IL 60201

At 8:00 am, a spoken Holy Eucharist (Rite I) with contemplative musical accompaniment. At 10:00 am, a sung Holy Eucharist (Rite II) with congregational hymns and service music, featuring the St. Elisabeth’s Choir (September through June) and instrumental accompaniment.

St. Elisabeth’s Sunday School Food Drive will resume in June. Victor, Hero, and Valoria Kim chose to donate canned fruit this month. All collections will be delivered to the New Trier Food Pantry. Collection bins are located in the back of the church.
