Baptisms

The Sacrament of Baptism is offered on the appointed Sundays during the year at regular morning worship.

If you desire baptism for yourself or your child, please contact, the Rev. Daphne Cody, at the Parish Office, 847-835-0458.

Adult candidates and their sponsors, or parents and godparents who come seeking baptism for their infants and children, are asked to meet with the priest and attend a two hour baptismal preparation session prior to the Baptism day. There are no fees. We encourage you to consider selecting a church community to be part of, be it here or elsewhere, to help foster and uphold the baptized-person in their life in Christ.

Weddings

Those interested in being married at St. Elisabeth’s are kindly asked to telephone the church, 847-835-0458, and speak to the Rector or Administrator. We can help answer some initial questions and send you a Wedding Guide for the specifics of holding the ceremony here.slide_03

In the Episcopal Church, at least one of the marriage partners must be baptized in a Christian denomination (to clarify, you do not have to be an Episcopalian); and we recommend a minimum of 6 months be given to do adequate preparation. As with Baptisms, we encourage you to consider having your wedding in the parish community where you will have your spiritual home.  Beginning in Summer 2014, weddings for same-sex couples will be legal in Illinois, and can be scheduled at St. Elisabeth’s.

Our church seats about 150 comfortably, and the chapel about 35 comfortably. Both have some extra space for additional chairs to be set up, if needed. Please take a moment to download and review our Wedding Guide.Wedding Guide

Funerals

At this time of loss, the staff and people of St. Elisabeth’s wish to do our best to make the burial services for your loved one as meaningful and well-planned as possible.IMG_1408

Please telephone the Parish Office, 847-835-0458, as soon as conveniently possible to make arrangements. We have a Funeral Guidelines sheet that will be helpful for you and your family to begin this process and can answer questions that you may have at this time. The person does not have to have been a member of St. Elisabeth’s to have their funeral here, but please speak with the priest about whether we can have the service at our church. The Guild Room and Living Room are available for a reception, if desired.

May the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace and rise in glory.
