St. Elisabeth’s takes a turn every other month to provide a hot dinner to our neighbors. Friends, family, and others (non-members) often join us in the work of shopping, food prep, and serving the meal. Children ages 5 and up can be put to work, under parental supervision.
On a typical Soup Kitchen day (always on a Thursday), we begin at St. Elisabeth’s at 3:00 PM packing 100 sack lunches. Then at 5:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church of Evanston (516 Church St.), we do prep and serve the supper. Afterwards, volunteers go out for pizza.
To offer your help on a Soup Kitchen Thursday, phone the church office (847-835-0458) and leave a voicemail message.
