St. Elisabeth’s is located on a triangular property two blocks South of downtown with Vernon Avenue on the East, Hawthorn Avenue on the North, and South Avenue on the South. We are one block West of Green Bay Road at South Avenue. The main entrance to the Church is through the red doors near Vernon Avenue. For the Chapel, enter through the Hawthorn side of the building. The Chapel is immediately to your left. Entrances to the church office are on both sides of the building on Hawthorn Ave and South Ave. Please see further details below.
Ample parking is available around St. Elisabeth’s campus.
Parking spaces are on South Avenue and street parking is on Hawthorn Avenue. For church services, including Sundays, weddings, and funerals, parking is allowed on Vernon Avenue.
Please note that if you are visiting during the week that except for special services (weddings/funerals) or events, that parking is subject to standard Village enforcement of a 4 hour limit on Hawthorn Avenue and is not allowed on Vernon Avenue. The South Avenue parking spaces are not subject to the 4 hour limit.
For those who are unable to use or wish to avoid using stairs, St. Elisabeth’s is partially ADA accessible.
All of our ground floor, including the Church, Chapel, Parish Office, Guild Room, and Living Room, is accessible. There is an accessible washroom on the ground floor.
St. Elisabeth’s is within walking distance of the Glencoe Metra Station on the Union Pacific North Line.
The Pace Bus Route 213 has a stop at Green Bay Road and South Avenue, which is just one block East of St. Elisabeth’s. Please tell your driver you wish to disembark at South Avenue in Glencoe.
Riding your bike to church is always an option, especially during the Summer months. Bicycle racks are located on Vernon Avenue, near the Chapel Terrace entrance to the building.
