The Rev. Daphne C. Cody, Rector
My favorite part about being a priest at St. Elisabeth's is that everyone chips in here, from the little kids to the longest-time members. I bring my love of Jesus to everything I do here, and Ithink that comes across as joyful and fun. People tease me because I like to have a plan (I really like to have a plan) for everything, but I honestly don't mind if the plan has to change. The best parts of my job are congregational and leadership development, preaching sermons, singing all types of hymns, and the opportunity to work with people of all ages. Outside of church, I like camping and adventure, reading, needlework, yoga, and old-fashioned games like cards, whiffle ball, and charades.

The Rev. Larry W. Handwerk, Assisting
Since my second retirement in early 2009, I have been assisting the Rector in liturgy, preaching, an occasional forum and anything else she asks me to do. After 40 years of ordained ministry, I've covered a lot of territory in church life. At St. Elisabeth’s I enjoy being among a group of people many of whom have that broad experience. Here I also benefit from being with new church folk and seekers who keep me open to new perspectives. I have a passion for scripture, the interface between culture and religion, the 20’s and 30’s generation and pushing the boundaries of old and new. Outside of church, I enjoy reading, computers, travel, the arts, and my two grandchildren.

Haley Tate, Director of Christian Formation
I have been the Christian Education Director at St. Elisabeth's since 2008. I find the families at St. Elisabeth's to be open to all ideas about bringing their children closer to Christ. I have grown up in the Episcopal Church and find that sharing the liturgy with children to be very rewarding. I am a Montessori Teacher during the week days and I enjoy the Catechisis of the Good Shepherd Montessori program on Sundays. It is fulfilling to see the children light up on Sundays at St. Elisabeth's when they discover something new about God. When not working with children, I enjoy needlepoint, down hill skiing, reading, camping and traveling with my family.

Brendon Hunter, Director of Administration
I have been the Administrative Assistant at St. Elisabeth's since 2007. I am originally from San Diego, California, and have a BFA in Studio Arts from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. My primary role at St. E's is parish communications and overseeing building use. A cradle Episcopalian I have served the Episcopal Church in various capacities, previously as a Peer Minister at Brent House the Episcopal campus ministry at the University of Chicago and continue now with active roles in the Diocese of Chicago and at the parish I attend, Church of the Atonement. I reside in Chicago and enjoy container gardening, baking, and painting.
Chris Roe, Director of Music
What a joy it is to be a part of the St. Elisabeth community! I'm impressed by the "everyone chips in" feel of this congregation. Originally from Michigan, I came to Chicago excited to explore the biking, eating, and cultural adventures that the area has to offer. My favorite part of the music ministry is the challenge of creating meaningful, intentional worship that both brings us closer to God as well as reminds us that acts of worship and church extend well beyond the four walls and one hour of church each Sunday.
